Within the ITS domain, two global trends will eventually cross paths and may be able to positively influence each other. Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs) are emerging in real-life deployments, and road operators are increasingly transforming into digital road operators. When the conditions are right, synergies could be unlocked in pursuit of safe, smooth, sustainable and inclusive mobility.
