Track A

Innovative traffic management is based upon the interaction and dialogue among traffic management public and private stakeholders that are able to work together on an integrated and holistic approach to managing traffic and traveler flows. Integrated Mobility management necessitates the exchange of data and information that will keep the transport system balanced. Climate change and adaptation along with cross-jurisdictional collaboration are additional elements that traffic management practitioners are nowadays called to take into consideration as mobility data play an increasingly important role in enabling innovative applications in modelling techniques, strategic policy decisions and public-private partnerships at a cross regional, national and international level. Governance and organisational challenges should be addressed by both public and private stakeholders in unison. Track A Sessions and Workshops will discuss innovative use cases and new transport modelling capabilities with the potential of advancing traffic management. Experts will share and discuss best practices and challenges faced by authorities related to planning and operations of urban and highway transportation systems discussing real-world examples from EU and global initiatives and projects.

SESSION 4A Traffic Management and Climate Change Adaptation

Wednesday, July 2 | 11:00 – 12:30
OLYMPIA HALL

This session explores the dual role of traffic management in addressing and influencing climate change adaptation. Key topics include strategies for managing green transport, integrating road capacity with EV charging and energy grids, and responding to climate and weather abnormalities. It also highlights how both adaptation and mitigation use cases rely on new and reliable data, emphasizing the importance of innovative technologies and public-private collaboration in building climate-resilient, sustainable, and efficient mobility systems.
