Workshop #4: Turning mobility data into value
Mobility data play an increasingly important role in modern traffic management, enabling innovative applications through advanced data exchange technologies. As emerging data sources, sophisticated modelling techniques, and strategic EU frameworks evolve in the mobility ecosystem, collaboration, interoperability, and innovation become essential for maximising the value of mobility data.

This workshop will highlight the critical role of mobility data in advancing traffic management. It will address key topics such as data quality, value creation, and innovative use cases, with a focus on enablers of seamless data exchange, including National Access Points and the European Mobility Data Space. Participants will explore the integration of emerging data sources and services with transportation modeling frameworks, alongside insights into EU policies, best practices, and barriers in urban and highway traffic management.

Key questions will include:

  • How can the potential of mobility data be maximised?
  • How can high quality of mobility data be ensured and which are the impacts of high-quality mobility data for effective traffic management?
  • How can EU frameworks foster innovation and interoperability?
  • Which are the current practices and the challenges faced by related authorities in exchanging and exploiting mobility data?
